Environmental Solutions by Region

Regarded by many as THE crown jewel of the natural world, the Amazon rainforest remains the largest expanse of its kind on the planet, the ongoing focus of exciting scientific research and discoveries... and the scene of bitter conflict and struggle.
Central America
WWF Central America covers 7 countries which, although very different, form an interconnected mosaic: a land and seascape that act as a bridge between the South and North poles of the American continent, as well as between the 2 largest oceans in the world.
Ecoregions
Of the 238 globally important ecoregions, 53 are located in Latin America and the Caribbean region. Currently, WWF is ambitiously pursuing multiyear initiatives to conserve the biodiversity of 19 ecoregions in the region.
Guianas
The Guianas (Guyana, Suriname, and La Guyane) are located above Brazil on the northeast coast of South America. They are part of the biologically rich Guiana Shield Region, an ancient Precambrian rock formation that extends from Southern Colombia to North-eastern Brazil.
Valdivian Forests
The Temperate Rainforest Ecoregion of Chile and Argentina, also known as the Valdivian Ecoregion, is one of 238 globally important ecoregions identified by WWF.
