Reducing gaps between conservation and fisheries.

Main objectives

• By 2011 a reduction in turtle by-catch rates in the Eastern Pacific longline fleets resulting from 20% conversion of vessels among the fleets of 9 countries to circle hooks.
• 50% of all vessels in the region using circle hooks and handling equipment by 2011.
• Circle hooks and handling equipment are standard & accepted practice in the majority of vessels in the region by 2013
