WWF's work in Peru - Marine

WWF-Peru along with its partners

• Provided financial and technical support for the development and stakeholder evaluation of the Paracas National Reserve (PNR) Conservation Master Plan, which has been formally approved by INRENA.
  
• Has supported integrated natural resource management in the PNR through capacity building workshops for park guards and key stakeholders, and through the hiring of a consultant that has already developed a draft management plan for the sustainable management of hydrobiological resources in Paracas.
  
• Has worked closely with a local NGO in Paracas, called ACOREMA, to protect marine turtles in the Pisco-Paracas area.
  
• Has developed specific biological monitoring indicators to monitor natural protected area management in the PNR.
