Mariuá-Jauaperi Expedition

From October 17 to November 15, a 65-person team will take part in the Mariuá-Jauaperi Expedition, which will travel through the Middle Negro River in order to to know the reality of forests and of  local populations and collecting information and data directly in the field are indispensable to nature conservation work.

The expedition ends, but a new journey begins…
It was shortly before 5pm when the Comandante Quadros II docked in Manaus. That was the end of the Mariuá-Jauaperi Expedition. The rescue
At 5:30am we woke up. He tried to start the motor again, but had no luck. I drank the last bit of drinking water we had and ate some crackers. That is when we saw a boat in the distance. Socó sat up on the voadeira and rowed quickly. The boat was anchored on the opposite margin of the island where we had spent the night. » Read more
