What you can do to help species on this planet

Solutions at your fingertips

All problems have solutions, and the dramatic loss of species is no exception.

While WWF is actively involved at many levels to halt species loss, we are more than ever reliant on your support.

Here we have drawn up a list of simple things, some of them literally a few clicks away, so that you can do your bit for tigers, whales, ultimately for all species - including humans - which all rely on healthy ecosystems.

Going abroad?

As an international traveller, you can support conservation worldwide by asking questions and learning the facts before you buy any wildlife or plant product.

Some of these products may be made from protected animals or plants and may be illegal to export or import.

Forest Stewardship Council

Take action to protect forests

Forests are amazing storehouses of biological diversity, housing over two-thirds of all known terrestrial species.

Yet each year around 13 million hectares of natural forest are lost. That's 25 hectares every minute, the equivalent of 36 football fields.

Whether you are a consumer, a retailer, a forest manager or even in government you can play your part in protecting forests.

Always try your best to make sure that any wood product you buy, either tropical or non-tropical, carries the FSC label (shown to the right)- it's the only sure way of knowing what you buy is "good wood".
